Managing Compliance in LIHTC Properties with HOME and CDBG Funding

Course Type:

Most HOME awards are made to owners of projects receiving assistance through other Federal, state, or local housing programs. This course focuses on what owners and managers operating HOME-assisted tax credit properties financed through private activity bonds must do to comply with the regulations of both housing programs and the private activity bonds program. It includes the differing eligibility requirements for income limits, annual income, full-time students, the application of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and special rules governing the determination of the maximum allowable rent. In addition, the course covers occupancy and reporting rules for properties managing project-based Section 8 units, housing choice vouchers, and project-based vouchers.

Agencies frequently request the advanced training module in conjunction with Quadel’s Tax Credit Compliance Systems (TaCCs) course for a comprehensive review of compliance requirements among tax credit financed properties.
