Much like the population it serves, the affordable housing industry is full of diverse housing providers.
In an effort to highlight our employees and their unique affordable housing journeys, Quadel will feature staff members in a new series entitled Passionate People. Our next feature is Jenifer Parris, an Associate who works on consulting engagements nationwide.
Parris started at Quadel in December 2020 and has enjoyed her career in the affordable housing industry so far. Most days, she processes annual recertifications and new admissions for clients. She discusses her job and what she likes most about working at Quadel below.
What made you decide to apply to Quadel?
“As a busy mom with seven children still at home, I was looking for a company that offered flexible, remote positions with an excellent benefits package. I found that at Quadel. I’m grateful that my position allows me to work around events with my family. I can give 100% when I am working and 100% when I am with my family.”
Do you have a favorite aspect of your job and why?
“One of my favorite aspects of my job is working alongside our amazing team. They have become friends which is something I didn’t expect in a remote setting.”
What do you enjoy most about Quadel as a company?
“I love that I get to take off my ‘mom’ hat for a bit each week and contribute to a company doing good work in our communities. I enjoy getting to see a goal accomplished or a deadline met. I also love that we are helping families find and maintain safe and affordable housing. I have been so touched by talking with families in need that were able to secure housing. It’s always a bright spot in my day.
Before working with Quadel, I had no idea this world existed. I am so thankful to know that we are making a difference daily in the lives of families by coming alongside local housing authorities to assist them. Together both of us are making such a difference.”
